I’m glad that you went ahead and decided to post your starting weight on your blog. I just wish that I would have done the same thing when I first started on my weight loss journey. So, I decided that I will start posting my stats and pictures starting next Tuesday when I weigh in.
I posted my weight and measurements on my blog even though it is very embarassing. There’s no point in hiding it. Afterall I wouldn’t have a weight loss blog if I didn’t need to lose weight, right?
SF&M, I just checked out your weight and measurment post on your blog and if your weight is embarassing… what the h** is mine.
We will both be OK putting those numbers out for the world to see. Just think how great it will be to post our incredible shrinking numbers. It’s going to provide us with so much satisfaction to see those numbers go down until we reach our individual goals.
I agree that it will be great to see those numbers get smaller and smaller but as to your first comment about my weights and measurements… you have to remember that I am a whole lot shorter than you are. I’m only 5’3″ and you are 5″11″. That’s a huge difference. I’m thinking that we are probably look about the same “size” if you know what I mean. You can carry more weight on your frame without anyone thinking you are fat – but for short people like me, it’s a lot harder not to be thought of as a butterball.
You are correct, I’m a bigger Turkey!
Height does make a huge difference when it comes to a person’s size. My mother weighs less than me (by about 15 pounds), but she is bigger than me (in inches and clothing sizes). She is only 5’2″ and I am 5’7″ – even just five inches makes a difference.
As for the public weigh-ins and measurements being embarassing, at least you’re doing something about it! That is my new “motto” – I may be fat, but I’m changing it.
I even told one of the girls who works at the front desk at my gym, “I used to be intimidated by the gym. I thought it was a place for healthy, fit people. I was worried about everyone staring at the fat girl (me), so I avoided it like the plague. However, that outlook has changed. My new philosophy is ‘Stare at the fat girl. Get a *good* look because I won’t be this fat for very much longer.’”

Everyday I thank God for my height due to my weight! Oh I’m okay with the public weigh-ins… I’m just not a let’s all get together and talk kind of girl. That is going to be an ordeal for me. Thanks for taking time to comment. Bridgette
Way to go on the weight loss!! You’re on the right path, girl. Keep up the great work!!
No…. I need to step up my exercise and water. After reviewing your blog, I’m falling short and need to step up my game.
You are rocking this girl. You need to be on my BK wall of fame and in the butt kickers club! Just sayin’
Hi… I did read that on your blog page. Let’s make a deal >>> when I get to 299.9 in weight I will join.
. YOU JUST PROVIDED ME WITH A NEW GOAL! Oh, by the way… You are doing fantastic with your weight loss.
I love that you are so honest to write everything done. The scale counter is so cute too! I just love your blog – so technologically driven. Makes mine look boring now… haha Good for you on the weight loss! I’m looking forward to seeing your future ones.
NO… I LOVE YOUR BLOG. That roasted whole grain stuffed kabocha looked so good. As I start to improve my health and make better food selections, I will look to your mouth-watering recipes for something new and healthy to try. Thank you for taking time to read and comment on my “little” blog because I’ve been a reader and now a subscriber to yours for a long time. Bridgette
Fabulous job so far! Keep up the good work! You CAN do it!
Thank you for your kind words & support. Bridgette
keep up the good work, i know its hard but you can do it. hell i’m on the diet roller coaster myself for the last 17 years. starting off at 315 down to 180 back up to 200′s back down again and the cycle continues. never getting rid of my big girl clothes, and never getting rid of my little/in between clothes. currently i’m working hard again to lose this 50 lbs that i put back on, its not as easy as when i was younger, but with those two motrins before work out time, and that icy hot afterwards i can do it and so can you.
chow.
BUT…. when you turn 50 years of age like I just did, your weight needs to be under control! It is so hard to get off after that age. Bridgette
I love that you use blogging to help keep yourself accountable! May you realize the best you possible!
Thank you for your kind words of inspiration… and maybe one day I too can do Yoga!. Bridgette
Wow you’re doing good! Do you weigh in about every month?
So nice to see someone doing it the natural way, one day at a time.
Very inspiring
Thanks… Yes I’m doing it the old fashion way with calorie counting & exercise. I usually weigh myself once a week, however, this time around I’m not posting my weight until JANUARY 1, 2012. After that I’ll post it every Monday. Thanks for commenting and I’ll check out your blog as well.
So cool. Can’t wait to read more from you!
Curious to see what your weight in will be on January 1
Do you have certain strategies for the holidays? Or not really?
Well… we are past Thanksgiving and I’m thankful for no weight gain. Christmas for “ONE DAY ONLY” I’m eating every damn thing I want until I fallout…
and the next day back to my calorie counting and exercise. JUST KIDDING! I just weighed myself a few minutes ago and I’m down to 333.6 from my starting weight of 356.6 that’s a total of 23 lbs of FAT OFF MY BODY TO DATE. I AM A HAPPY GIRL TODAY BECAUSE THE SCALE IS FINALLY GOING DOWN AGAIN! I was stuck for awhile. THAT IS MY MASTER PLAN.
Oh that’s right, in America you guys have Thanksgiving. Lots of tempting food I can imagine,
Yay! for a moving scale! Plateaus can be pretty discouraging. So happy for your loss
Thank you and I look forward to following your weight loss journey as well. Bridgette
Congratulations on the weight loss! Keep it up and it’s great that you revealed the numbers. I bet you feel so much better now looking back at where you started!
Hi Carnisha… I still have a long way to go but I’m happy to be on my way. Thank you for taking time out to comment. Bridgette
Great progress Bridgette!
